The maintenance engineers are those who do regular maintenance work on the aircraft. They have a fixed schedule to adhere to based on the flight hours of the craft. Parts are inspected for wear and tear, troubleshoot the craft in the event that a failure has occurred.
Repair work are also done together with a team of technicians. The nature of this work requires one to work shift as most of the aircraft are used during daytime and maintenance can only be done at night.
Aircraft Aviation Career Qualifications
The knowledge of science, physics, mathematics are necessary for one to pursue aircraft aviation career. A bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering or related field is a good start for those who are keen to pursue a professional career in this field. In the areas of research and development, a master or doctoral degree is usually preferred.
Those that are keen in the controls and communications of the aircraft will be required to have a basic degree in electronics , communications or related field. One will also have to keep abreast with the requirements of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
